All the 20 Lok Sabha seats in Kerala that went to polls under the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 have seen a drop in voter turnout when compared to 2019. A similar, but little better, picture was witnessed in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat too, official data analysed by News18 shows.

As per the numbers from the Election Commission of India, in Tamil Nadu, voter turnout was higher on just four seats out of total 39 while in Gujarat, just one seat out of 25 saw higher voter turnout than the last time.

In terms of average voter turnout, these three states, where all the seats falling under it went to polls in a single phase, have reported a drop in voter turnout.

The other two bigger states – with more than 10 Lok Sabha seats and single phase polling – were Telanaga and Andhra Pradesh. Both the southern states have reported a jump in voter turnout when compared to 2019.

In terms of individual seats, all except one seat in Telangana has seen a higher voter turnout in this time and in Andhra Pradesh, 11 out 25 seats have reported higher voter turnout.
